The Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York, is famously known as the birthplace of the original Buffalo wing. In 1964, Teressa Bellissimo, co-owner of the bar, is credited with creating the now-iconic dish by deep-frying chicken wings and tossing them in a spicy, buttery sauce. This creation quickly became a local favorite and eventually a nationwide sensation. In recognition of its culinary significance, the Anchor Bar was honored with a James Beard Foundation award, solidifying its place in American food history. Today, the bar continues to serve its famous wings, drawing visitors from around the world eager to taste the dish that started it all. Home of the Original Buffalo Chicken Wing is now in Myrtle Beach! Eat, drink and enjoy friends and family while you experience the taste of the original chicken wing right here on N. Kings Highway.
